Auchi Polytechnic is one of the leading Polytechnics in the Country in one of the most Vibrant and Cosmopolitan Town in Nigeria. The institution was founded in 1963, first as a technical college which was a gift of the British government to the then Midwestern Region. It offered courses only up to the Ordinary Diploma level in limited areas of engineering and business. By the seventies, there was a need for skilled manpower at a higher level and in many more disciplines. Thus in 1973, the Bendel State Government upgraded the technical college to a full-fledged polytechnic with the mandate to train skilled manpower up to the Higher National Diploma level in a broad range of engineering, science, environmental studies, business studies and art and design. List of Accredited Courses Offered in Imo State University (IMSU)
We have gathered the Full List of Accredited Courses offered in Imo State University by the National University Commission. The university was established in 1981 through Law No. 4 passed by the Imo State House of Assembly, Owerri. This was amended by Edict 27 of 1985, another in 1986 and finally for the relocation by the Law No. 2 of 1992. Academic activities commenced at the temporary site located at the former Madonna High School, Ihitte, with Professor M. J. C. Echeruo as its First Vice-Chancellor. The decision to establish a State University arose when the absence of a Federal University was greatly left by the people of Imo State whose major industry is education. The State had so many qualified candidates who could not be admitted by the existing Universities. The Government of Imo State under Chief Sam Mbakwe sought for and obtained the approval of the Federal Government for the establishment of Imo State University as a Liberal Studies tertiary institution in the State. 
All candidate seeking to gain admission in UTME at Imsu must possess the below listed requirement.

- Must score 180 and above at the Unified Tertiary Matriculation examination (UTME)

- Must be upto 16 year of age on or before applying for any admission in the institution
- Must meet University and department requirements
UME Requirements
- Credit passes in at least 5 subjects including English and Mathematics at either the WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE obtained at not two sitting. Mathematics is Compulsory for all sciences based Courses.
- In addition to paragraph (i) above, the candidate must obtain a good score at the UME.
Candidate seeking admission into direct entry programme of the University must possess
- The above requirement (i) in addition, the candidate must possess at least two subjects at the Advanced level or HSC. The credit passed at ‘O’ level must include English Language and Mathematics
- National Diploma (ND) with a minimum pass at Merit level from any recognized institution. In addition the candidate must have Five (5) ‘O’ level credits passes in English and Mathematics.
